I love this particular series, and it is a wonderful product for public libraries, but it should be retired.  Medical information is suspect after five years.  This book is full of referrals and was probably out of date even before my five year rule. When I got this via ILL it looked as wonderful as the day it was published.  No wonder it’s hard to let these go!  I stuck this book on this site just to remind us that condition will not always flag the old stuff…you’ve got to look at the pub date, people!

I just found your site and it’s fantastic! I had to comment on this one as our library has it too. But then I am reading another book I picked up at work – Insanity and its treatments, published in 1892.
Sometimes REALLY old medical books are a riot to read.

I was able to get pregnant after over a year of trying (I was in the 80’s, the book was from the 50’s), based on information I found in a woman’s medical advice book that was 30 years old. I’m not sure it’s always a good idea to assume that older advice is bad advice. PS Yes I was really happy to get pregnant!
