I love the fact that baghouse sounds dirty. Like a place where old streetwalkers go to retire. “Well, Bob, we can’t afford a high priced hooker tonight, why don’t we check out the ol’ baghouse?” I also think it sounds like technique when you throw in “reverse pulse” as if they specialize in something there. Good stuff, this!

I’ve actually read this book. I’m also a chemical engineer and these things are super common in solids manufacturing (which I work in). Although, the reverse pulse style is antiquated so you won’t find anybody putting in new ones. I’ve also changed out the bags before… it really is one of the hottest, dirtiest, most awful jobs ever.

As a chemical engineer, I think baghouses are super cool and during my senior design project I checked out all the baghouse and electrostatic precipitator books in my school’s library so the other students would not be able to. That was less cool, but still somewhat cool.

I love this idea. I’m glad I’ve only missed a few months of it. In April I weeded our elementry school library and ran across several deeply embarassing titles. It’s slightly comforting to know others are (should be) just as embarassed as I am. This blog is permanently on my bookmark list!
